What started as an experimental membership has grown into one of the most powerful and fast-growing offerings at Startmate, a community for ambitious women across tech and startups to connect, grow, and lead.

Over the past year, this group has quietly become a force. It's where first-time founders have launched bold ideas, where industry experts have stepped up as mentors, and where hundreds of women have found the support, confidence, and momentum to take the next leap in their careers.

As the community evolved, so did the need for a name that reflected its impact and its future.

Why the change?

Ladymates has always been about creating a space where women in the startup ecosystem can thrive. But as the community grew, we heard feedback that the name didn’t quite capture the ambition, scale, or professionalism of what it had become.

We surveyed our community, tested new directions, and one name stood out:

Collective.

It reflects what Ladymates has always been: a space for shared growth, knowledge exchange, and rising together. It also nods to Ladymates Collective, one of the original versions of the membership.

Introducing: Startmate Collective

We’re renaming Ladymates to Startmate Collective.

It’s simple. It’s strong. And it reflects what this community is truly about: bold women building bold careers, together.

But the heart of the community remains the same.

The two tracks you already know and love are staying exactly as they are, just under new names:

Startmate Collective (formerly Ladymates Collective)

  • For aspiring and early-stage founders - women who are building something new or exploring the path to entrepreneurship.

Startmate Collective – Leaders (formerly Ladymates Leadership)

  • For experienced mentors, founders and operators - CTOs, founders, GTM leaders, and domain experts who want to support others and grow alongside like-minded women.

This structure allows us to continue to serve women at different stages of their careers while staying connected through the same values, energy, and momentum.

What’s not changing?

The people, purpose and energy behind this group aren’t changing. It’s still Startmate, and it’s still built on the belief that women deserve to lead, build, and thrive in this ecosystem.

We’re just giving it a name that better reflects what it’s become and where it’s heading.

Want to join us?
